Pretty good fishing weather ahead and I have a solar system going up later in the week so the clear skies are great to see...
Did you get out and get amongst them Bunyip..? Yeah it was only a small section where we back the cars down, but it has become eaten out over the years with the rain, i have to lift the whole area by about a foot to make it better.

Meanwhile, the weather continues, regardless of pandemics & politics. Dunno whether derechos are worse than cyclones or not. They can travel for hundreds of kms,just a heck of a lot faster. In the US. Destructive derecho, a line of storms with 100 mph winds, slams Chicago and Midwest The long-lived storms traveled over 200 miles across the country's center, producing 60-100 mph winds, downing trees and knocking out power for millions. https://www.nbcnews.com/...chicago-midwest-n1236332These things fascinate me as much as cyclones. Only heard of them in the last year or so, due to a novel set in the very North of Minnesota. Apparently the (real) storm in the story travelled across several states then back east across Canada & right out over the ocean before subsiding. Only 1 quick morning out and the tax men were crazy. Never seen so many good fish lost. All boats were loosing pretty much everything.
The Katabatic winds are up there this morning. Can hear it as a mild roar in the dark.
Been some very nice weather over the last week or so. Just magic.

Chillagoe is working its way up to hot weather again. The gorgeous days are gone and every day is 31+. Although the mornings are still lovely&cool. The nights are still, only just, doona temps.

G'day weather watchers :)
Well our run of magnificent weather had to come to an end eventually, and it did as the winds picked up Thursday.
Some very big squalls yesterday and overnight with rain periods in between gave me 16mm this morning.
Soaked and chilled to the bone now after running the dog, but that all part of the fun :)
Looks to stay the same for a couple of days.

Yep, we got the winds out here too.
It got quite warm for a week or so, now it's cooled down again.
But basically, still just dry, dusty, and brown. 😁

A few miserable days down here.. No real rain just drizzle and winds, though after a couple of morning showers we are getting some sunny patchs... The big Highs have returned and it looks like similar weather for the next couple of weeks...not good fishing weather at all... Its been interesting to see the difference in production of my new solar system between at different times of the day and with sun and shade..despite the fancy latest technology "half cut", "PERC", etc with heavy cloud cover they seem to only have about 1/4 output...I imagine during torrential rain in the wet season that will be further reduced...still I think we will probably not have to pay for power again... our dogs dont like he rain Bunyip..they just lay on the couch looking miserable... They would much prefer to be in Chilligo or townsville with the dust and dry...as long as they had a creek to cool off in. Edited by user Tuesday, 1 September 2020 11:04:22 AM(UTC)

So reports of LA Nina this summer... but we have all heard this before right?
If borders stay open i'll pop across to Darin and Kakadu for a fortnight late Nov into Dec in the hopes of seeing some REAL storms! WAs due to climb up to Everest Base Camp... but no... NT will do :)

Had a few nice dark grey skies, but mostly blue cloudless.
Yesterday was 36.5°C.
Not quite that warm today.
Real exciting stuff you know...
Lots of people through town still. Camper trailers as usual, and an unbelievable amount of monster off road caravans covered in dust.

Has been noticeably warmer over the past few days, have be getting around with the shirt off two days in a row, Seems like once you hit Equinox it is like bang, the switch has been flicked and it's back to warmth again.

Good day weather watchers :)
So a few coastal showers have developed this morning and has made for a nice day in the garden hacking back the jungle and getting a cool refreshing shower every now and again.
Not a lot in it but welcome none the less.
Anyone here grow Vanilla ? I've got a few just starting to flower but most of it will be to high to pollinate.
I need to come up with a better system than just letting it run away up trees.

My 3 useless suggestions would be a small artists brush on a long stick, a really big ladder or let the bugs pollinate it for you. I had some but Yasi killed mine, so i don't have that problem
