Wow bunyip only 2mm for you that is almost as big a fizzer as here, i didnt get a drop all night 0.25mm 24hour total for me. Copperlode dam 180mm, Cairns racecourse around 68mm yet cairns aero .6mm !!!!! Looks like menavale and japoonvale with over 200mm had the highest but wouldn't be suprised if babinda topped the lot there was some serious yellow blobs hanging out over babinda all day.

What a weird season its been and continues to be.

I only mowed on the weekend and already some places have 6 inches of rampant fresh green growth after that deluge and unseasonably warm minimum temps this week...

Great to see spring arrive with such a flourish..but I'd like for the dominant highs and tradewinds with their showers to go away and give us some nice springtime fishing weather..

Wind , holy it is blowing.. Few trees come down this morning that I heard but it feels and sounds even stronger now.

You're not wrong about the wind, Bunyip. I was going to walk to the beach for a fish this arvo, but ended up going without the rod, (and the beer).

I would've needed a snapper lead to be able to cast into the wind,- and just about got sand blasted as it was.

Gumba Gumba mowed the grass last Fri, but the wind has now covered the yard with leaves, twigs & small branches from all my melaleuca trees.

The 1034 hPa high down south is moving across slowly, so a fair few more days a wind for us.

Its been a shocker hasnt it..these danged highs ripping across with little reprieve in between ..

We had some young wwoofers stay last month for 2 weeks..

I had arranged that we would get some work done around the property and then the next week before the full moon when the tides suited we would head down to Macushla at Hinchinbrook island to camp for a few days, spot some crocs, catch some mud crabs and barra and do a little hiking...

It had been dry for 29 consecutive days and started raining the very day they arrived and during the next 2 weeks we only had one dry day and no days that were suitable for offshore boating or camping..I did manage to get them down the river on the only good day and spot 3 crocs and get some video...

They left a day early even though I told them it looked like we would likely get a break in the weather in the next couple of days..

They were skeptical and a bit disappointed...

It did come good for a day the very next day. so me and the missus spent an awesome day out the reef and would have stayed overnight if we had known it was going to be so damn good...

The tropical weather can be just so fickle this time of year..to get out on the water you just need patience and to be ready to roll when that nice day does come..or wait till october/november when the tradewinds die off..

Hey Scott, yeah it's been a real blast :) Can't remember as long a run of such high winds.

Didn't sell up, but did buy and move, but only 810m lol :) got 4ac here to try and get on top of
and and old house that needs a bit of work, should keep me of the streets.

Yeah need a very flexible job this time of year if you want to fish, got to drop everything
and just go when the right days turn up.


Hopefully it drys up a bit over the next week, as it looks like the winds will die out for a few days.
