We must have a bit of a westerly, today's been an almost smoke free day & we could see the clouds again.

The stuff on the radar completely missed us, but I could smell it. Nothing new there lol.

Fairly thick smoke since early in the week. Not pleasant. Apparently like fog in places along the road to town.

Some good days to coincide nicely with the reef finfish closure. Luckily got in the day before and banged a few good trout. We try to limit our catch at this time of year as they are so easy to take and mostly roed up. Looks like quite a few wont be spawning until next closure.
Records for 2022: 1520mm

Things are really heating up and drying up in my neck of the woods, September was the driest month of the year for me with a whopping 44.75mm for the month with none this month. No sign of storms yet must only be just around the corner. Some good days on the reef along with every other man and his dog out there.

Yeah the heat has really come in with a bang this first week and a bit of October! I did see some convective showers on the tablelands and a brief heavy shower or storm pop up near Mareeba maybe a week or so ago on the radar.

Surrounded. A few flashes. Occasional faint rumble. Fingers crossed.

Frogs have been croaking over the last couple weeks.

Couldn’t agree more, last night we had yellow going over our location and bugger all rain.

So it seems as though Tully has seen all the real action over the last few days.
A storm tried here yesterday but we only got a bit of light drizzle as it fizzled out.
The Radar is way out, I hope they can sort that out before we see any real action.

Cheers

Yep the radar is way alright they are absolutely butchering it. Huge blobs coming past with these storms with green and even yellow at times for a total of .75mm bone dry here at the moment total of 1.5mm this month its gunna be real dry soon if none of these storms produce.

Bloody hell, ABC reporting 16cm hail near Mackay. Wouldn’t that do some damage!

Thought that was pretty amazing. Channel 7 said 17cm.

Didn't think they would get hail there.

We had 2mm last night between 7 & 8pm ish.

The storm season south is really pumping, I wonder if we will see some good action soon?
16cm hail is insane, as much as I love a good storm I don't want to see that.

yep some of those hailstorms are as epic as I have seen them...

Certainly glad we dont get that nonsense up here..

We saw the first thunderstorm of the season at the end of last week...

The lightning looked great sitting 55 km's out at sea..we just anchored up good ,put the clears on and snuggled up in the bunks as it rained on and off throughout the night..

We arrived back home the next arvo to some nice puddles lying around the place..

Continuation of 37° to 40° days - but the nights and early mornings are gorgeously cool and fresh.

Still brown, but east of Almaden life has greened up.
