Just to get these topics up and running here's a few shots from around tornado alley in the states over the past few years. This was a long-tracked tornado that developed over newly planted farming land to the south of Amarillo, Texas this year. This tornado was on the ground for over an hour and tracked over 25 miles. 
TAHOKA, Texas Tornado by Orebound Images, on Flickr High-based LP supercell in west Texas that was lofting out baseball sized hail and producing extremely strong RFD winds. 
Vega, TX LP Supercell by Orebound Images, on Flickr Bit of a hazy old day but this was one of several tornadoes from a prolific producer in western Kansas during the 2016 season. We witnessed 6 separate tornadoes on this day. 
Kansas Tornado by Orebound Images, on Flickr Still in Kansas, this was a beautiful stationary supercell that anchored near Leoti, KS and made for some incredible timelapse scenes. It also produced a tornado early in its life cycle.

Ha nice one VR. You're from Nebraska I see? I remember the big tor outbreak around the McCook NE area on May 17 this year. That was a tough targeting day and in the end we actually targeted the dryline further south in the Oklahoma panhandle after starting the day in Garden City Kansas. There was a staunch CAP in place that many believed wouldn't breach but we took a punt on the incredible dynamics that were at play should storms be able to get up. It was an extremely late break in the end but thankfully storms organised quickly out of the panhandle and produced a lovely long-tracked tornado for us just into Kansas. This tornado was on the ground for over an hour and tracked about 80 miles while taking on many different forms. Not a lover of tornadoes myself orebound but l do keep track if time permits. Unfortunately some bad news . Tornado damage. Sept 2019  Edited by user Thursday, 12 September 2019 5:14:54 PM(UTC)
