Thanks Ron. Yeah, the short term forecast is looking a bit on the drier side.

Anyone got any insight into when this drought will break? No storms forming nothing, quite bizarre weather still getting down to 16C in morning in november with only 5mm of rain for me in almost a month. |

Yeah, I don't recall a year like this for a while, still cool overnight. I think 1998 or 99 was similar, with a hot dry period, then ended with a bang with cyclone Rona and some epic rain.. |

Yeah it is shaping up to be a strange build up.. With no real sign of any build up at all yet.
Not that I mind going without 95% humidity & high 30's temps for awhile :)
Ron we were living & working away when Rona arrived and missed that event, but it sure made a mess up this way.
It's been some years since the Coral sea really had it's cyclone [censored]together so it could be on this season.
Ground hog day here with early watering of the veggies, and evening watering of fruit trees and vines.

bunyip quite bizzare that even you in the mighty daintree with already almost 4300mm of rain for the year is needing to water !!!! how strange |

Yeah go to all the trouble of building mounds and beds so nothing drowns most of the year then have to spend
all you spare time watering when it does not rain on time :) lol
The forest is drying out too with a lot of leaf fall.
Just knocked out a batch of Grumichumama jam :)
Overcast day has been good to get a bit done in the gardens.

1mm since 11 Oct here, very dry at the moment but heard a storm bird in our tree today so maybe that's promising.

I have had a brief sun shower here each morning the last 3 days while I have been out watering the gardens.
Just enough to make the leaves wet but not enough to get the soil even damp. All less than .5mm so have not
bothered to record.
A nice wet day would be very much appreciated about now.

Did pick up 3mm a couple of nights back .
I don't use the email notification , just drop in every few day and see if there is a new post star on the main page.
drop in more when there is something happening.

Staying dry here as well 28. Almost half way through NOV and 1mm of rain. Sick of watering the pot plants.
As for the storm bird, even the neighbour told him to shut up the other day.
Maybe they're right about El Nino, late wet.

Went for a drive up to Innisfail today and could hardly beleive how brown its starting to look..bloody dusty around the cane farms as well..
Our creek is really starting to slow up with so much leaf drop..
Noticed yesterday a couple of charts starting to show a bt of activity mid-late next week for QLD though it looks mainly in the south and central areas but surely we are due for at least a storm or something.....
My marang tree is absolutely loaded so I have been getting the water onto it..such a delicious fruit...I need to cut the top out of it but will wait till the fruit is ripe and harvest what i can reach with the picking pole before giving it the chop...
Some good boating weather this week but am too busy and still on the hose dragging duties...

Great too find 13mm in the nylex this morning :)
and showers still coming through.
Hope everyone is getting a bit but sorry 28 I don't think it's going to make it out to you
but they did mention storms so you may just get lucky as well :)
Everything is greener already, but I'm sure this will bring the humidity with it and things
could start to get a bit uncomfortable from here on in.

still f all at my place 1mm overnight!!! all the rain going just north of here into the daintree. Ive had 2.25mm this month and approx 6mm since 10th october |

13 mm here as well..
Cleared up here now though it looks better to the north...radar looks good around your way tropo, thought you would be getting a bit more then that...

Hey scott its certainly coming through now, the weather must have read my post and responded, im not home atm but here in town (mossman) around 15mm so far by the looks since this morning, hopefully similar at home. Same for mine. There's a lovely big band of rain moving towards us from southwest. Just passed Croydon, Mount Surprise, over Greenvale and just hitting Townsville. It's starting to dissipate, fingers crossed for a little bit at least. A frog croaked a couple times, I can feel it in the air, maybe something will happen? Followed up with 13mm again this morning from showers yesterday :)
The gardens are loving it and the lawns have shot away.
A couple of days not dragging hoses around :)
Storms can't be to far away 28 , fingers crossed for you.
