G’day everyone . I gave Paul another PM in regards to posting photos and screen shoot data etc. So hopefully he will be able to look at the server and see what the problem could be. Hopefully he may be able to get it up and going once again. 👍👍
Cheers. Colin |

I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope you are all faring well after the dramas of the last couple of weeks. The weather seems to have returned to normal for this time of year. No rain here since Tuesday. Edit: White Rock total for the year 3308.5mm, Tully Sugar Mill 3387.2mm. A couple of good storms and we could beat Tully. That would be a first. Edited by user Sunday, 24 December 2023 4:44:03 PM(UTC)

Just had a nice storm this afternoon, giving us about 10mm, and then another power outage for a couple hours. Notice Daintree power is still out, affecting 11 people, with the 'next update' on 29 December. https://www.ergon.com.au...inder/outage-finder-map/Reason The loss of supply is due to damage caused by cyclone activity. Status Work delayed - crews unable to continueBest wishes to everyone for Christmas time and the New Year. Hope everyone has a good time.

Merry Christmas weather watchers :)
I was very lucky and our power was restored yesterday at about the same time it went out 11 days earlier :) The Ergon boys did an amazing job and out of town crews will continue to work even today. Still a lot of work ahead of them. Daintree village is running on a big generator and I think the network is gone further up the valley by the sounds of things.
Amazing weather this last week helping to dry out after this event.
Cheers

Good to hear everything is being fixed up your way Bunyip. It's a nice day for Christmas in Cairns today.
I got a bit carried away with beating Tully. I think their reading is to the end of NOV. Maybe next year.

SM I’m going to beat Tully for the year think that might have only happened once new or twice In history here. Bunyip will take the golden gumboot by a mile this year |

Your right tropo, the Mossman area has smashed Tully this year. I don't think the Cairns area will ever beat Tully. But, some of the totals up your way lately, you never know. Edit: On the latest event, maybe a couple of official rain gauges on the northern beaches could have been handy. Edited by user Monday, 25 December 2023 5:30:51 PM(UTC)

Agree it’s extremely poor that there is no offical gauge somewhere like palm cove, considering the size of cairns and its surrounds only two offical gauges is poor. Likely a fair bit of difference between palm cove and surrounds and the airport or the racecourse.
Innisfail has many more stations than cairns area |

Anyone in the Edmonton area copping that storm just now? We are just on the southern edge watching some nice bolts here in Gordonvale. |

Good to have pics back Despite the storms going all around us we only got 5mm this morning. Glad we don't get the wild storms like the Goldy has had the last couple of days. I we can , but they are very rare compared to every season down there. Cleaning up still, just put 2 tanks a day through my saw as it gets to hot after that for me. It's hard to keep my head around the fact that it is only Christmas and we have so much season ahead of us, it sort of feels like clean up and it's over ( false sense of security) There has been a newspaper clipping from some years back doing the rounds of social media, that described the 1911 season and the cyclone that destroyed Port Douglas and how they had multiple big rain events over the season. Hope it's not a repeat or mother nature trying for a personal best Cheers |

I can believe 100+, it looked pretty intense out the back of Edmonton. The nearest gauge, Copperlode, had 51mm.

Nothing to report out here, as usual. Had a storm coming towards us, looked like it was over us, but actually split each side of the town - as usual...lol.
