No late afternoon storm - they all missed us.

Beautiful evening, cool and refreshing, an almost full moon with just enough clouds to make it interesting.

Yeah 28 it was a bit of a surprise during the night as the cloud cleared for a bit and the moon filled the bedroom with light.
First time I've seen moon for a fair while lol

Just 24mm this morning. A fair covering of cloud again, but not as much on the radar coming down from the north.
Wait and see what the day brings.

cheers

Zero mm in the gauge this morning.

Rain band slipping by to the west. Can feel the damp, but not even getting the slightest sprinkle. It has kept things cool & fresh though.

Had a visit from the Blob in the wee early hours this morning..

349mm here ..maybe more as the gauge was already full when I first emptied it early this morning..

I see Tully stations with 400-450mm and some personal weather stations recording over 500mm...

Lots of photo's of localised flooding and even reports of people placing wheely bins in some South Mission beach streets to stop people driving along flooded roads and sending water into homes...

Hopefully it sends a few pesky southerners back south again...havent had any flooding down the beachs for quite a while and its been starting to see an influx of too many city escapees moving up with their annoying city ways and expectations..LOL

Im hoping my water intake isnt washed out ..not looking forward to a half day hike up the gorge and trying to get the siphon happening again...

Nah no pics Ron..my property doesnt really flood as we are in the start of the foothills and I built a 1m levee along the creek edge years ago which has been enough to stop my creek flat area from flash-flooding..just the creek crossing comes up and stops us from getting out anywhere for a while but then again numerous local roads and the highyway is cut as well.....

Some huge totals in your area overnight Scott. It must have been very intense rainfall. I hope all is well.

Only 7.5mm here this morning. A few patches of blue sky around in Cairns today.

Some great totals down your neck of the woods Scott.
Lol , yeah seasons like this do wonders for thinning out the southerners who think they can :)
I like the way it is around here at the moment, stuff all tourists and the roads and shops are easy.
With the likely demise of the mill next week, our area could really be in for some hard times, and
I'd say a few will move on, add to that the roads in the Daintree/Cape Trib not open and water problems
still troubling the council, the terrorist season will be a bloody disaster..

40mm here this morning, managed to walk the dog and not get wet, got home and it's raining again :)

Cheers

Nice rummberly storm with a great light show overnight has left 56mm in the gauge this morning, and rain is building and continuing now.

Cheers

13.5mm here. Couple of heavy showers in the early hours. Could have been a distant rumble as well. Still a few showers hanging around today.

Edit: BOM is hinting at a SE surge in the next couple of days. Could be interesting.

Looks like rain areas intensifying and pushing onto the coast between innisfail and ingham with a bit of a blob starting to form....

Bugga all here so far but I already see some totals over 150mm north and south of Tully...hopefully not a repeat of last saturday night ...

Geez the bloody humidity has been crazy the past few days too...pretty hard to be productive out in the paddocks..

So just 69mm for us with falls of between 150mm-200mm north and south of us...no harm done..

Looks like Daintree area might get a drop or 2 tonight from this SE flow...

Pretty poor month for rainfall here ended with 381mm, well short of the 600mm average for around here, looks like cassowary coast/innisfail pulled the big numbers for FEB, lets see what march brings

Picked up 42mm this morning, most fell yesterday during the day, with just a few mm over night.
Few showers around today so far.. Looks like we could pick up a bit over the next few days.
Neat 500mm for Feb and that takes me to 1571mm YTD ...

Cheers
