I think you are right weary..It sure is an interesting system..

SM I hear one weather guy say that it should start moving slightly to the north tomorrow afternoon but its basically just stationary now and if you look at some of the synoptic charts there doesnt look like much different happening till midweek...

I see wallaman escarpment gauge behind Ingham has ticked over 1000 mm for the week already and i reckon there might be quite a bit more between ingham and townsville to come...

Tully has got 190mm today so far and just 10kms north we are 46mm so i guess that Tully is the northern limit of the system so far..maybe in coming days it will stretch out along the coast a bit more..

Radar sure is looking pretty wild for Townsville to ingham again this evening..crazy stuff indeed.!

Edit..I also see both Tully and Babinda (clyde rd alert) have topped 1000mm for the past week also...

Yeah Scott, the stalled system is so similar to 2019. The positioning of lows is the difference.

Cairns area seems close to decent rain on the radar. It has just started raining heavy on the roof as I type.

lol SM..Not boring..Look at Rollingstone there on the chart ..268 already after 297mm last night..!

Every time I walk past the computer I update the Rain and river data page and take a squiz at the radar...

At least you got out Ron...Did you catch it or the boy..?

My sons rental place is right on the line of areas to leave being just a couple of hundred metres from the Ross River..but its got upstairs as well so worst case he should be OK...

Tully up to 241mm for the day so far...

Even cairns looks like its getting a shower....

Its just crazy how much moisture is feeding onto the coast with most heading towards Ingham to Whitsundays...if it keeps up like this it really could be an epic night to remember...

Thanks 28.

I hope everything goes well for your son there Scott. It's quite an event in T'ville again.

A bit of a surprise here tonight, 53.5mm and still raining steady. I measured the best downpour today, 10mm in 7 minutes. Water everywhere.

Edit 2225hrs: Rollingstone has now had 319mm Amazing.

Edit 2320hrs: JTWC saying low is centred 33nm sw of Cairns. Probably explains why weather is coming in from the north today.

We got 48mm last night. It came in 2 15 minute bursts. Proper heavy rain where you have to SHOUT TO TALK to each other over the sound of rain on the roof.

Looks like Townsville missed the worst of it last night with the really heavy rain concentrated between there and Ingham . Paluma Dam 666 Rollingstone 597 etc while Townsville “only” got up to between 200 and 300.

Welcome dribbles..so i guess you usually steal Cairns rain before it gets there, do you...?...LOL

Just 142mm for me...but 302mm for Tully.

702mm for Rollingstone and 999mm in the past 2 days.

Most of Townsvile around the 300 mark same a yesterday and the radar shows no relief anytime soon...

Edit...My son in Townsville seems to be fortunate that his rental is on a slight high spot between low spots and his street is not flooded...more by dumb luck then design I think on his part..

Also read that some Ergon dude was out assessing a tree down on a house when his vehicle was stolen.....I personally think people stealing and looting during natural disasters should be shot on sight...

64mm in the gauge from some heavy showers early last night. A steady drizzle here this morning.

The T'ville area knows how to put on a rain event. Rainfall at Rollingstone is incredible.
