G'day dribles , I'd never heard of green hill before today :) Thanks for the link to your station.
I see Ingham is flooded too. This event should eat up a heap of $$$$ and put more strain on getting anything fixed anytime soon.
Cheers

Or you do steal our rain before it gets to us from the Tablelands Dribbles..I'm a Tully guy..we dont need to steal anyones rain here...happy to share anytime though... You might have to take a trip south Bunyip...I reckon there is going to be plenty of roads needing repairs after this mess... and yeah Ingham area well above major flood levels though the rain seems to be clearing for us and them down there...I read the power has been turned off for the whole of Ingham too.. meanwhile another 41mm for Rollinstone in the past hour...surely it has to start easing up a bit there and Townsville soon. JTWC has the low dissipated this morning. Looks like it's going to rain itself out over T'ville.
I agree with you Scott, can't get much lower than stealing an emergency vehicle when their trying to help people in distress.
Another 41mm at North Ward T'ville since 9.

Lost power here for some reason. Showers building again, heat is pretty off the charts when working outside today. Should have gone fishing again lol |

Yeah Ron, it's been a good day up until now but very humid outside. Radar is looking good to the north now. Rain just getting heavier here now. Edit 1600 hrs: Just had roughly 30mm in half an hour. Good downpour. Amazing how that rain rate finds all the jobs you've neglected on your house. Edit 1703hrs: Green Hill is interesting Dribbles, they say it's an old volcano that diverted the Mulgrave River from the Cairns Inlet to it's current mouth at Russell Heads. I like the yellow red colours of the trains as well Ron. The circulation seems to be moving west in this map. Maybe it will let the convergence move north. A big maybe.

Rollingstone has had another 214mm in 9hrs today. Someone said during the 2019 T'ville event that the monsoon intensifies at night. It could be another wet night for them.
About 45mm here today so far.

Well over 50mm here, and the evening rain train seems to be lining us up for a little more tonight. Amazing Cairns AP has seen 5mm. Edited by user Sunday, 2 February 2025 7:33:10 PM(UTC)

Crazy rain at the moment. Torrential. Edit 2036: Still raining heavy, lightning and thunder around. Looks like a bit above 80mm in the gauge. Edited by user Sunday, 2 February 2025 8:38:45 PM(UTC)

Chucking it down out here at the moment too. Thunder and lightening and touching 50mm/h. 34mm so far, but I think it will just keep coming if we're now in the convergence zone :/
