We had a bit of the edge of that rain here Ron. Could hardly see the units across the road for a while there. About 10mm.

No rain here out of those storms just inland this arvo. Nice bit of thunder though.

At the moment the models are pointing at a bit drier end to February.

Cracked 40c on the digitech today, drove into Earlville and the car temp went from 39c at Gordy to 35c at Earlville. A brief storm popped up over Gordy and temp was 27c driving home before the sun came back out.

A hot day here also Ron. 38°C on our car thermometer when we left home today.

I noticed that storm down G'vale way from the Manoora IGA carpark and took a photo. Impressive cloud.

It looks a bit like our maltese terrier but the enormous size of it was the thing that was impressive.

Edit: That's our beautiful little Maltese we inherited from the granddaughter.

Not just hot down here ..the humidity has been a killer as well..

Plenty of creek time for both human and hound...the water is noce and fresh and clean ATM...

swimhole feb25.jpg

Amongst other thing did some chainsawing down of icecream bean trees yesterday but was buggered by 9.30 and needed a while to recover...just about to go and hit it again this morning...

Thankfully looking like a coller change coming through sometime today so tomorrow and onward will be more pleasant..

Bit of drier weather ahead SM..?...I see some forecasts for lows spawning in the coral sea in the week or so ahead but at this stage any movement should be to the SE they say..I guess thats something to keep an eye on if conditions become more favourable for western movement...I think its Bunyips turn for some exciting weather next ..all the action has been to the south of him so far...BigGrin

What a beautiful pool Scott. I'll have to admit a bit of envy here.

Looks like we might get a break from the rain? Has Zelia eaten up all the moisture?

Darwin is late with their wet. My niece lives there, says they haven't had much rain at all yet. When I check the radar the rain is around but not over it.

The pool is looking great there Scott. Humidity the last couple of days has been high, doing the yard catchup work in very short shifts.

By the look of GFS on Tropical Tidbits the forecast for the whole of Northern Australia is a bit on the drier side at the moment.

That creek looks bloody good Scott, wish we had something like that here..
And yes I think it is well past my time to get in on some of the action...

Found 8mm in the gauge this morning
Getting a few showers this arvo, but looking for a lot more.

Cheers

Ended up with 116mm this morning. 😀

Don't think we will be doing any road works for a few days looking at the forecasts.

Sitting in a loader today, 3 semis come ever 2 hours, drop off gravel, that I have to push up into a pile. That's it.
Only one on site for the next couple of days. 👍

Cheers

Nice falls in your area Bunyip. No rain for us here overnight. The heavier stuff seems to be sticking to the coast at the moment. Looks threatening though.

Only 5mm in the gauge this morning, with the lightest fairy drizzle on my walk.
Was hoping the SE breeze would push a bit more onto our coast up here, not so far..

Just a few showers here overnight for 12mm total. The models at the moment seem to be going for the low to the east heading south. Maybe that will drag it all away for a while.

45mm here via just light showers most of the night and morning..

We had a nice swim with the dogs yesterday before the rains started again, we gave them baths and they did there stick chewing routine on one side of the swimming hole where bits of wood accumulates after a bit of rain..they also love to bound around on the rocks....its like a doggy jungle gym...every day around 3.30-4pm they start getting excited and nudging me to take them on their afternoon adventure...such lucky hounds to have a jungle lifestyle where they can run free and pretend they are a pack of wild beasts and then come home, get dried off and lay around recovering on the lounge... BigGrin

Anyway SM we will see if you are correct and the low moves southward taking the rain with it..seems to be the concensus ATM although they have been known to curve back to the west if conditions allow....only time will tell i guess...

10 day models shows the southward scenario and a dry end to Feb and start to March..

Yeah 28, SM was saying about the lack of Monsoon in Darwin a couple of weeks back...what an odd year its been..

Sounds like a decent weeks work Bunyip..getting paid to just sit on a loader pushing up gravel..!...Is that for the council or private contractor..?

We almost made it to midnight with 0.0 in the rain gauge last night, then just before 12 - boom! - 0.4mm. Almost made it a full day without being precipitated upon!

Contractor mate, 84h so far this fortnight and 4 days to go BigGrin

Few light showers today, enough to just do 4h this morning and then knock off.
Can't believe the lack of rain here, thinking it could be a late finish, late march/early april event

Cheers
