Best fall was out this way was at Coonabarabran with 6.6 mm. Tamworth 0.4 mm, Narrabri 0.6 mm.

My MY The rainfalls cor yesterday look fantastic. Some big totals there. Even west of the ranges there could have been enough to

dampen the fires? Is there any still out of control?

Whoo hoo. Barrington tops with 143 mm yesterday

Sydney 66mm yesterday wow BigGrin and its still raining. Up to another 17mm since 9am. Can't wait to see the final totals tomorrow. This is good

Forster area has some onshore shower cells currently. It seems we have some sort of a low eddy off shore that is driving it in.
At least that is what the national loop suggests?
Could get a few handy mm out of this todayBigGrin

Lithgow at 4pm is a cool 10 deg with a south wind. I think l got that right from METEYE.

Katoomba around 8deg currently

40mm of rain yesterday at Katoomba . Only a few mm today.

I can see the Entrance and parts of the Sydney district have had another 30mm since 9am. Very welcome. A bit like an ECL event without the wild winds..

There is a fire out this way but it is under control

Oh that is sad to hear. As with Warwick in the QLD forum, things looked rather promising on the radar and then next to nothing reached the ground.

Fingers crossed for next week and the next few weeks

Looking at Access r model. I am hedging my bets for a brief rain band and storm for Forster area on Sunday afternoon.

Bom obs say Forster had 16 mm yesterday
Forster obs are only partial.
The next best station with nearly the full compliment is probably Kempsey which only made it to 22.5 deg c today.Min of about 12 overnight

All of the Bellingen Nambucca area had between 20-40mm in the past 24hrs.
The ranges right along the east coast a few mm as well. But as you say it is areas out west of the ranges that desperately need some rain.

The long wave trough settles in to NSW tomorrow.

midnight/1am a rainband out west of the state.

By 4am there is patchy precipitation across the state

By 7am there is some intensity building over the riverina ,alps ,canberra regions, west of Sydney and surrounds.

By 10am the stronger rain band has reached Sydney burbs.

The rainband is quite slow moving and doesn't move out to sea until about 7pm.

There is going to be some rain west of the divide but some will get it and others will miss out.

A good day to watch the radar in NSW tomorrow.
Good luck to all those who need it the most.

Lots of cloud over the west and mid state this morning. No rain band unfortunately.
There is some isolated patches in southern NSW. Hope at least some parts of the country get something. Thinking that Orange may get lucky today with a few mm. I know they are one of the desperate towns.
