And who could forget the amazing MODIS imagery (above) from the 2009 dust storms.
The 1st image is where the dust was by the next day on the 24th Sep (it tainted snow cover in New Zealand) while the rest are from the 23rd Sep including a graph of Brisbane's air quality index in terms of the 24hr running average of PM10 particle (such as that in dust) concentrations.

Wonderful satellite images from 10 years ago. I love the air quality index graph. Literally shoots off ot the chart.

Slightly warmer today but remaining near average, though the apparent temperature was near the temperature for a longer part of the day rather than a bit below it like it was yesterday. Near average dew point and have been stable in the last few hours. Near average relative humidity. N to NE winds today with some NE to ESE winds. A N breeze is continuing at present.

Near average dew point which rose and fell several times in the morning and afternoon. In the early hours the dew point was stable, fell slowly in the evening and in the mid morning the dew point became moderately high. Near average relative humidity. Light and variable winds at times early becoming light NNW to NE from mid morning, NE to ESE from late morning, E to NE in the afternoon and NNW to NE from late afternoon.

Today: Near average dew point fell before rising from 5 am while remaining near average. Near average relative humidity. Light N to NW winds at times today and otherwise calm.

This was from a post I made in 2009 on the Australian Severe weather forum. I think the post was from the 19 -27 of September. It is worth a read. It was full on right around Australia.

As at 3.27pm Tuesday 22/09/09 I counted 39 weather warnings for Australia. It is quite an eventful day. I have posted an WZ map to try and give an idea of what is happening.

There is storms, dust storms, strong winds, cold fronts, fire especially in QLD and the list goes on.

22/9/19: Fine. Partly cloudy with some ac clouds in the morning with cu clouds developing from the morning easing later in the afternoon. A hot day. The temperature was variable from later in the morning and in the afternoon. A small rise in the temperature in the late evening with a wind change. Near average dew point falling slowly in the early hours and in the evening. Between the early morning and mid afternoon the dew point rose, fell and rose again while remaining near average. Moderately low daytime relative humidity. Light WNW to NW winds in the early hours, NW to NE winds from the early morning with some WSW to NW winds before E to SE winds in the afternoon, E to NE in the late afternoon (with a rise in dew point) and became calm in the evening. A SSW to SW wind change at 11 pm.

Today: Ci clouds with some cu clouds developing so far today. The temperature have been stable for some of the time before rising since 6 am. Near average dew point have fallen slowly and have been rising since 6 am and have started to slowly fall again. Moderately low relative humidity. Between 12:45 am and 1:45 am the relative humidity fell (while the temperature was stable) before resuming the standard rise as the temperature falls. Light WSW to S winds most of the day so far.

I agree there. I have been looking at a few forecast charts and they keep chopping and changing. One moment they say some rain for later this week and then the next run, they say next to nothing.

Passing periods of sunshine caused the temperature to rose and fall 9 times in the morning and afternoon with typical temperature for the day. From the early morning the dew point fell before rising slowly and have stabilised in the last few hours. Relative humidity also jumped up and down in the morning and afternoon close to average and is moderately low presently. Winds have been mostly light E to SE, and now is calm.
