A nice little storm has worked its wayover our area of the thread. Some good flashes and deep rumbles.

There was a small chance we could see a storm on Saturday and GFS has plotted it very well.

Well it looks like the nice weather we were having for the school holidays is over. At least the kids had the chance to have some good outdoor play time early in the week. By Thursday afternoon the showers were back. In fact we were up at a park in Caloundra on Thursday when a reasonably heavy shower came through and caught us out.

Yesterday was fine enough for the kids to go to the pool but today as Colmait mentioned we have thunderstorms. In fact we have just had a storm warning issued:

It has been a pretty active afternoon Aussie Girl. Still have got deep rumbles going on down here. It is a pretty good storm for this late in the season.

Just to add to Aussie Girls post is the Lightning tracker courtesy of Energex. Was just listening to some Chill out music when we had a massive clap of thunder.

Last night, Wed/Thursday was a fantastic night for sleeping., almost the perfect temperature. It quickly dropped to 15°C last night and stayed around that temperature for the whole night.

It has also been a big swing in forecasts for the long weekend. Showers were on the cards and temperatures in the mid to high 20°C for some time, but in the last few days the model runs took a change and now we are looking at summer once again with sunshine and 30-31°c days. The feel like should be almost on par with the bulb temperatures readings.

Stay safe on the roads and beaches and enjoy the summer blast.

A few showers starting to pop up on the radar this afternoon. The change is pushing through a little earlier than BoM had 1st predicted , but they have upgraded their forecast to include showers this afternoon as it became evident.

It was a sneaky little forecast to get exactly right as models were a bit jumpy. We may also hear a few rumbles of thunder ( even a slight chance this afternoon) but more likely late tonight and tomorrow with a few possible embedded storms that should become more Coastal on Friday, then clear out over the bay and sea.

Just using Meteye for the possible storm activity.

Today was an almost perfect day temperature wise and the sun shining with a pleasant feel to it.

It did feel like we had a little blast of summer to end the school holidays Smile The kids certainly enjoyed a bit of extra beach and pool time in the warmer weather.

A very heavy rainfall on Monday night brought an interesting end to the long weekend.

As Colmait mentioned above it looks like we are in for a showery end to the week. The BOM forecast for Brisbane for the next few days:
