Haha got to have a bit of fun.. Good work.

55mm here this morning :) Just showers yesterday and last night.

Good old Townsville Bully getting the lemmings stirred up at the hint of any action.

Bring on this wet stuff.

As for mowing, I've been doing ours about every 4 to 5 days lately as a week is just too long.

Cheers

At last -- maybe something to talk about, before the season is over! Fingers crossed.
The monsoon trough is back, but not holding my breath.
Just got an early warning network flood warning. All of the Cape and down to Mackay.

Sorry Pogo, you are dead right, I do my “panic” buying at the start of the season when it’s nice and quiet 😎

My panic buying is still left over from last year, or was it the year before.

I figure that if anything is brewing that's worth sitting up and taking notice of, I'll be very well aware of it without an EWN notification.

Probably time I deleted my subscription. Being right on the corner of 3 weather regions. Most of the time the weather doesn't reach us.

2.5mm for me in the past 24 hrs.

(1) AN AREA OF CONVECTION (INVEST 96P) HAS PERSISTED NEAR
11.4S 138.3E, APPROXIMATELY 101 NM NORTHEAST OF GOVE AIRPORT,
AUSTRALIA. ANIMATED ENHANCED INFRARED SATELLITE IMAGERY DEPICTS A
VERY BROAD, DISORGANIZED LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION (LLC) WITH MINIMAL
FLARING DEEP CONVECTION TO THE WEST. A 091232Z MHS METOP-B 89GHZ
MICROWAVE IMAGE REVEALS A DISTINCT LACK OF CONVECTIVE STRUCTURE
SURROUNDING 96P, WITH A SMALL BURST OF DEEP CONVECTION TO THE WEST.
A 091118Z METOP-A ASCAT PASS SHOWS A VERY WEAK, ELONGATED WIND FIELD
SURROUNDING THE LLC WITH A LARGE SWATH OF 15 TO 20 KNOT WESTERLIES
TO THE NORTH OF THE LLC. 96P IS CURRENTLY IN A FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT
WITH EXCELLENT POLEWARD OUTFLOW, LOW (10 TO 15 KNOT) VERTICAL WIND
SHEAR, AND WARM (30 TO 31 CELSIUS) SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES. GLOBAL
MODELS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT THAT 96P WILL TRACK GENERALLY EASTWARD
OVER THE GULF OF CARPENTARIA WITH MINIMAL DEVELOPMENT. AFTER
CROSSING OVER THE CAPE YORK PENINSULA NEAR TAU 48, 96P WILL BEGIN TO
TRACK SOUTHEASTWARD WHILE QUICKLY INTENSIFYING.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 15 TO 20 KNOTS. MINIMUM SEA LEVEL
PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1005 MB. THE POTENTIAL FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE WITHIN THE NEXT 24
HOURS IS LOW.

Well if the shops are not stripped bare by now, they certainly will by the end of the week....Blink

YS but that's forecasting that soon as it crosses the cape as a Low, more or less along the Monsoon trough, it will quickly form a cyclone which will scoot off SE into the ocean..so whats the worst that we will see....plenty of rain, some flooding and maybe some squally storms..then back to normal over the weekend unless anything changes ....no reason to empty supermarket shelves is there...?

I'd like a nice drenching to finally flush out the creeks and make them swimmable again..

No reason at all, but what’s reason got to do with it?

Light drizzle through the evening, til somewhere around midnight.

Brought 8mm.

Drove to Cairns this morning. Mud on the car, consequently mud on my jeans.... After all these years I still forget to not lean on the car. No rain til the Kuranda Range. Lovely misty morning, nice to have seen it.

Yeah, it looks like s few days of wet, then it is fine again for the weekend.
Our smaller creeks are flowing again , but only just.

When you see some of the headline like "Townsville in Target zone"..... it doesn't take much to get people on a "roll" for panic buying....Scared Woot

As usual, not much rain out here. Barely 1mm between 6am and 5pm.
No rain as I drove to Cairns this morning, no rain on the way back, til some light drizzle starting about 20km east of Almaden, all the way home.

This looks interesting, maybe?

Would be more fun if it formed then parked up and stayed closer to the coast.
Oh well.

Be nice if it tracked a little further south, for us anyway.
