We had about a couple of inchs a week ago and dribs and drabs since...
Everything is nice and green and lush and now I hear some good stormage out the back but so far not making it over the range..
I'm so happy we are not getting all the damaging storms that keep happening to the south...but its been 10 years since Cyclone Yasi so who knows whats in store for us this season...

Hmmm. The Edge Hill rain repelling force field has well and truely established itself over the last week. This morning there was big blob of rain over Woree heading north, as it hit Whitfield/Edge Hill it just melted away 🤬

30mm yesterday afternoon. Another 4mm overnight. Rain at Mareeba this morning. Guy from Speerwah complaining they were missing the rain. Rain at Tolga and Atherton. Mixed with occasional sunshine. Gordonvale has largely missed out as well, grass is still dead here. It's just a mater of time before we get under something I think.
I should go get a nylex.

Ron the grass will get going in know time, It's been slow here till the last week and now it's off to mowing season
full on.
I've got a New Nylex on my list for Kans, old one is so sun burnt I can't see what's in it.
Nice wet morning here didn't want to get up.

3mm yesterday from edge of a fair sized storm to east. Didn't realise you got it so dry in Gordonvale RF. I've resorted to those $10 push in Nylexes. A good one for the few months of Wet, & an old brittle one for the Dry just in case... Stuck in a pot full of sand. And angled so I can take a zoom photo of the measurement from my deck 😄 in those rare longer wet events. Coming home this time there were storms where there'd been fires last week, thank goodness. Been missing most of the rain here since mid september, october had a whooping 1.75mm for the month. So far this month I have had 86mm yet mossman, port douglas, cooya are all in the 120mm range for the month so far. Pisses me off heavy showers going left and right of me. |

Yeah I dunno bunyip..
We seem to be the only areas on the East coast thats missing out on all the rain...
We keep getting promised it but it just fizzles out...
I'll have to go and sort out some plantings I did last week and get some water on them..I was expecting mother nature to do it for me but so far she is only teasing...

I'm waiting a bit yet for planting out, got a fair few cuttings we brought with us in pots ready to go in the ground
but want to go back to old place once it is raining propper and get plenty more.
Starting to get a feel for where some stuff will go, now we have opened up a fair bit.
Showers going south of us today :(
Very stuffy with a few quiet rumbles now and again.

Since my last report in the heavens have opened up, ended up with 219mm for the month with the last 3 days producing storms and 123mm of the monthly total. Things are now super green and shouldnt look back now until next dry. Im at 2891mm for the year and should break the 3000mm mark by the end of the year. Bunyip already over 4000 along with the daintree coast. Cape trib and certainly tully in with a chance to break 5000mm for the year. |

Grass starting to dry out, groundhog days of 24c-34c literally everyday.
Anyone would think its a Darwin dry season. |
