Unless I'm blind and can't see it - an 'active topic' or 'active posts' button.

On the left hand side next to each forum or topic, you will see the folder icon (or small grey circle on a mobile device). It will have star on it if there are new posts since you last logged in. Mobile devices the small - No new items since you last logged in - New posts since last logged inNext to each topic there are a couple of small (more like tiny) icons. The left one takes you to the last post you read and the right one takes you to the very last post. These are coloured red if you have new posts to read. - Last read and last post if you have new items to read - Last read and last postThere is also an active topics section towards the bottom of the forum too. Hope this helps and let me know if you think we need anything else.

I made a trip to Norway a few years ago and spent a week in Tromso over Christmas. Not quite 24 hours of darkness, with polar light for a couple of hours and everything looked a beautiful dark blue colour with a tiny patch of orange on the horizon at midday. From about 11pm, I froze on my back, laying in snow (with a small hip-flask of Whiskey) and looking up. The stars were amazing and on the third night, I saw green Aurora and some tiny patches of orange. It gives me goose bumps typing about it now, because they are an amazing and mystical sight. Shame they don't happen in warm places! (I guess my last comment is for the climate change tread! ) Anyway, Aurora are still on my list to see again.

Hi Paul, did you know you can see pretty good auroras in the far south of NZ, and even in Tasmania? If you're on twitter, check out @iangriffin, he's taken some gorgeous shots, mostly over Hoopers Inlet near Dunedin. Ian Griffin (@iangriffin) https://twitter.com/iangriffin?s=09

Hi Paul, or any moderator.
Another ex-WZer has been trying to sign up, to join us in the FNQ section, but it keeps rejecting him, even trying different email addresses.
He gets the following notice.
Quote: Forum Error There has been a serious error loading the forum. No further information is available. Please contact the administrator if this message persists.
Note If you are the administrator, and need help with this problem, then Turn off CustomErrors in your web.config. Try Again -unquote.
What can he do to access this forum.
Regards, Julie.

Many thanks Paul, and of course 28..
I don't know what I would have done without chatting with these other weather nerds and trying to make sense of our crazy tropical weather...

What is the possibility of the forum being on Tapatalk or other forum phone apps?. I use Tapa for several other forums when I`m away from the computer & it makes participating a lot easier.
I think it is free for the forum host.
Just a thought......... |

Hi Paul
I'm still here after almost 3 years. It's great to have a way of chatting to others in my region. Thank you.
Just noticed when linking from my email to the last post that the precise time shows for a second or two before it changes to time elapsed.
Is there any way we can choose to see the date & time if posts? rather than X number of minutes/hours ago.
Cheers, Julie.

Easier navigation of this website. Might just be me but l'd like to see the latest posts in different forums and be able to directly click on. Instead seem to get link to posts that 3 or so years old. Seems clunky and when you're only occasionally visiting like during the 'wet season' yearly for the obvious weather reasons have to keep re-familiarising - to access the wealth of the informed members. Cheers, mb maybe it's just me but definitely would like to see more people contributing Edited by user Tuesday, 27 December 2022 9:09:46 PM(UTC)
