Currently raining, after a hot sweaty day. Nice band of showers.
Hasn't the BOM had to contend with multiple funding cuts over the years, like the poor old ABC.

Nice bit of hype from Hollywood Higgins..whatever it takes to sell more subscriptions and make more dollars.... All the good mail is suggesting that it approachs the coast and swings away to the cyclone graveyard in the SE...... An arrow pointing away from the coast doesnt look near as good though.. Only 4mm for us this morning. Is that Sky Muster satellite, or do you still have a landline? Brilliant thinking on the part of politicians to give those of us in the tropics something that doesn't work with cloudy weather. As for landlines, remember all that brand new copper the government bought a few years back. Have to wonder why they don't replace our failing infrastructure.

31mm here in the last 2 days. The weather normally clears for a bit here when those lows head off to the SE. Hopefully the yard will dry out.

Hi 28, Still got a landline running ADSL .. great when it's working. They say it should be fixed by the 15th.. not real good service. And the hot spot is a bit touch and go as the phone gets very little reception here as well .. lol :)
Not sure what is in store for us over the next few day, wait and see.
Cheers

Hi Bunyip. Good to still have a landline, when it's working. I moved here too late to get one.
A lot of people lost connection last week with that big electrical storm. I rang Telstra for an elderly friend. They told me 48 hours, then it was 10 February, even on the priority list. A bit of a saga, but I made a nuisance of myself on Friday & they had it reconnected within 90 minutes...!

We are on a landline and its just been terrible..but its a yearly event for us and it gets fixed for a while then back to [censored]again.. Plenty of people complaining down Mission Beach way about the on again/off again service...I called the other day and told the Indian lady we are having problems getting on the internet and cant get incoming calls either..she told me to hang up while they tested the line and then she would call back...I thought she was trying to make a funny... . As for old mate Higgins and crew...they are well ahead of the BOM apparently... and still this arvo they are trying to scare more people into signing up...its such bottom dwelling scummy sales tactics...
