couple of mm in the guauge but nice and sunny here today..
a bit of a blessing to dry the ground and shack out a bit..quite a bit of mould appearing ..
Brutal working outside today...it was a slow trudge back from up the paddock digging out some clumping heliconia stock ..
Total immersion in the creek was very neccessary to bring the body temp down and remove a few stray leaches...
Now time for a snack and a siesta..
Doesnt look to be much weather on the horizon with that coral sea low likely to head off the the sou east now..

Humidity was brutal here this morning as well. Went through two totally drenched shirts trying to mow the yard. Was interrupted about 1330 by a good thunderstorm. Around 40mm in half an hour or so. It cooled things down a lot.

few wet days needed hey Bunyip.....man i would love the opposite so my ground /swamp dries up a little.. This one just popped up on my news feed....I havent seen anything else from him so who knows if there is any accuracy there but he is claiming the flooding we have seen so far this season is nothing compared to what we will experince in the near future..anyway have a read and lets hope that he is wrong.... https://www.facebook.com/A.V.Weather

Yeah Scott, just a couple of cooler damp days mate, not looking for a lot :) haha
That is some interesting reading, hope he's out a bit but with how hot it is and how high the humidity is you would have to expect some more fairly heavy rain soon, it can't keep going up and not come back down. And yes the sea temps are still up there. It is a strange start to the season, and with March our traditional wettest month we still have a way to go.
Army worm has turned up in our area in a big way, so far I've been spared (touch wood) but a lot of lawns look bad.
Cheers

Cheers My couch has just about disappeared under a carpet of weeds with rounded leaf. Seems to be a weed with a small leaf as well as this larger one. Not just my yard either. Never seen either before. At least it's not bugs under the ground I have to deal with. Only another 5-8 weeks, and it'll all be dry again & I won't have to think about it... LOL.

73.5mm here so far for the month. It's a lot wetter than to this date in Dec and Jan so a wet month could still happen. High overcast but no rain yet today.

2mm this morning, from a brief shower at the edge of a storm yesterday afternoon. More of the same today, only no precipitation at all from the multiple scattered showers surrounding us. Ho hummm.... Already feels like the end of the wet season. The light breeze after the 2mm yesterday afternoon left us feeling a bit on the cold side. Even put a blanket on last night. I hope I'm wrong. There could be a bit of rain around by the end of the week. Looks like a low could be coming across from Darwin way into the gulf. Rain maps are on the increase. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed. Sure hope so. Feels like the Dry already. Clothes on the line drying quickly again. Dishes in the rack dry instantly. 2mm in the gauge this morning. Missed out on most of those showers that were around. Edited by user Sunday, 11 February 2024 3:16:17 PM(UTC)
