Woke to the sound of thunder about 2am this morning. Lightning was like a strobe light out to the north. 145mm at the airport, that was a good storm. Just 2.5mm here. It looks like more rain on the forecast for the next week.

And another good storm tonight in Manoora. Almost constant rumbles, lots of lightning, heavy rain & a bit of wind. Cooled things down somewhat, and giving my car a good wash... Started around 8pm, still going 45 minutes later. Edit: 8.45pm power just went out. Edited by user Thursday, 12 December 2024 8:50:45 PM(UTC)

I've been watching that storm go through town 28. Non stop lightning strikes to the ground and amazing thunder. A bit of wind here too. 1mm of rain.

Yes been some great storms around. That one a few mornings back was a ripper, could see the constant light show from up here. We have been getting them here to, but as always totals vary wildly with storm rain.
Cheers

16.5mm here this morning. The wz forecast was for 10-20 so they got it just about right. A couple of close lightning strikes lunchtime yesterday was exciting. Sunshine today so far.

Yep some ripper storms about for sure..never seen so many lost dog posts up though...poor old pooches..!
I also see the big falls forecast for mid week and on down here have been wound back substantially....
What happened 28..how did you get dragged back into the Chillago scene...must be like Larrimah is it...once you are hooked you just cant leave..lol..
Hey Bunyip I finally got my Cat H approved...7 and a half looonng month of hoop jumping...now for a PTA and a nice little pistol in the post in about 28 days hopefully..
I also shot a Service pistol club match today which I enjoyed immensely..I might also do an IPSC club match next month after watching the guys go at it last weekend...it looks like a real challenge and just so much fun actually using handguns in a practical type situation ...

Just here for a weekend visit. My most unfavourite time of year, hot & dry, and too much smoke usually. Bit of a shock after Cairns. Lots of burned areas this side of Almaden. Glad to have missed all the smoke. I was hoping we'd get a downpour.

Thanks 28. Speaking of downpours, we just had a top of the radar range shower. 10mm in no time.

Picked up 7mm this morning, little shower after I went to bed last night.
Good stuff Scott, something I want to do, but all the bulls*&% stops me from actually doing it. Maybe next year, my neighbor is local club president. The other problem is getting powder & primers and none of it is getting any cheaper..
Cheers

18.5mm here, most of that in 5-10 mins last evening. The forecast up until Christmas is looking OK at the moment. A wz 20-40 for Friday about the best.
