Good morning weather nerds, 105mm here this morning :)
Nice to see they had someone on hand to sort the radar out yesterday, was just waiting for the notice that someone was coming from Briz.
The system looks to have slipped a bit South this morning :(
Cheers

129mm mostly in sharp short showers in between lighter stuff the rest of the time.. Radar might be fixed but Tully and Bulgun gauges arent updating on the BOM pages for days... Tully had double our rainfall yesterday not sure about the past 24 but the roads cut again between Tully and Mission with a body truck coming to grief yesterday.... Today is the day that the real rain starts for us apparently with Tully to Rollingstone in the main zone... . i was doing a bit of reading on Precipitable water levels yesterday which i found were one of the main indicators for possible rainfall intensity.. These are building from now until tuesday when they will be at a very high level which means very heavy rain possible and even worse if it is held up by mountains or forms convergence zones which is what happened down around Ingham/ rollingstone a few weeks back.. Stole these from Weather IQ FB page (first one is today with 2nd being Tuesday) from my limited understanding apparently below 25 is dry..above that is wet, over 50 is very high while anything over 70 is basically extreme and off the chart which can lead to torrential downpours/flash flooding...

76mm here in the gauge this morning. We had one of those torrential downpours about 0430hrs, couldn't sleep through that one. It looks like a lot of water lying around in the Tully area Scott. By those maps your area does look to be in for more heavy rainfall 1200: Heavier rain beginning to fall here again. Mar: 245.5mm YTD: 1661.5mm Edit 1240hrs: WZ has the White Rock forecast at four 40-80mm days in a row at the moment. Edit 1825hrs: 43.5mm here since 9. Mainly light to steady with the odd heavier shower so far. Edited by user Sunday, 16 March 2025 6:29:13 PM(UTC)

138mm here this morning :)
Looks like plenty more to come. Might head to the servo and fill a couple of empty jerry cans, just to be sure. Can see there will be nothing in the shops again.
Not a lot one can do in this weather. Got a copy of Rodney Liddles, "Cape Your, The Savage Frontier" Just been re released in paper back. Been wanting to read this for many years.
Mate on solar needs to borrow a genny for a few hours, his broke down a couple of weeks back under warranty so repairs are taking a bit longer than should.
Stay safe everyone, only head out if you have to.
Cheers

75mm here this morning. It's been consistent after the 76mm yesterday. Light to steady rain still falling at the moment.
Looks like Mt Sophia has had 200+mm again after 250+ yesterday.
That book sounds like a good read Bunyip.

78 here this morning..i actually expected more ..
massive amount of moisture sitting offshore...its just a matter of whether it actually pushs onto the coast how much we do get...
It does look like a good book..I might just download the online version...

1750hrs: A drizzly old day here so far, about 12mm since 9. BOM has a initial flood watch out for the NTC for tonight and tomorrow so that could be interesting. Moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls possible is the forecast.

Yes Ron, yesterday was a bit weird for this part of the world, it rained all day but there was no “volume” to it, only got about 10 mm

Well only 65mm here, a bit disappointing after getting a flood watch :) :)
Some good falls in the south, with Paluma on 250mm and Paradise Alert on 280mm they have copped it this season.
Cheers

92mm here of mostly lighter constant rain. Some isolated bigger totals around babinda. innisfail and ingham.. Looks like the blob has pushed onshore a bit more this morning from mossman to rollingstone so we all might be in for some heavier stuff today.. You might miss out though bunyip by the looks of the radar... edit..rollingstone with 198mm overnight and could cop it again if that heavier blob pushs onshore down there... I think you might be right Scott, only light stuff here this morning with just the odd heavy shower.
Forecast is still looking wet for a week out at least.

39 mm here..
looks like the general rain is gone and we are back to possible thunderstorms...
Townsville currently being attacked by a blob with street flooding..
and yeah weary when the highway closed yesterday we decided to go grab a few groceries just in case people started stripping the shelves...our creek was too high on monday which is our normal shopping day..between the freezer and the garden we can get by anyway but were getting low on milk, bread and tomatoes (which I hate to be without)....
