The severe weather warning that's in place for the weekend between Ayr and Tully isn't going to help the situation down there.

Edit: A bit of trivia, T'ville Aero 915.6mm this month so far.

Just 1mm here so far today. A bit less than the 10-20 forecast. Looking a bit better tomorrow, 40-80mm on WZ. I think being north of the trough is always going to be hit and miss. But that can change very quickly.

It only lost signal in the heaviest part of the rain - it's something other people complain about, but it hardly ever happens for us.

It usually comes back pretty fast (just reappears) depending on the reason. The rain had it off for about 20 seconds. As long as Dishy doesn't actually lose power it dosn't need to reboot - the inconvenience is normally how long the phone or computer take to reconnect.

We don't get NBN out this side of the highway, but I don't think i would go back to it anyway. Starlink is really reliable and pretty idiot proof.

10.5mm here so far today. A bit of an E breeze here this arvo. Hopefully that's a sign the trough is moving a bit north finally.

Edit 1647: Good shower there. About an inch.

60mm here...Geez these storms can be pretty intense and quite random...

I see up to 200mm in places again between Cardwell and Rollingstone last night again..and so much for the Hinchinbrook Dredging operation at the boat ramp there...looks like 1.5 million wasted there..seriously who tries to dredge a 100m x 6m x 1.5m channel in mangrove mud in a flowing creek to a boat ramp in the middle of the wet season anyway..?..and who would think that it wouldnt just collapse and fill back in ..?

10 day charts show the Monsoon trough moving north and possibly giving us a break from the wet from wed/thurs..

feb2512.jpg

Looks like finally some progress on the Ollera creek bridge approach..I here the Highway may even be opened tomorrow...

43.5mm in the gauge here. A similar pattern with showers building from the west again this morning.

Thanks for the photo Scott. It's good to see some progress there.

Feb: 628.5mm
YTD: 1305mm

Edit: More trivia, we're 582mm ahead of this date last year.

More showers here this arvo...Cant wait for a bit of sunshine..

Looks like some supplies will be finally getting through this evening with road open to the trucks tonight and public tomorrow as long as more rain doesnt cut the highway north of ingham again....They must have been cracking the whip the last couple of days to get that breach filled in....bet those road guys have never worked so hard in their lives...LOL

By the time they get that open the flood threat could be further north by the look of the forecast.

A checkout chick was complaining today about being abused for the shortage of durries over the last couple of days. It was her fault the highway was cut.Blink
