After the dew point almost rose to 0 C in early morning, the dew point once again starting falling in the morning and fell to -20 C in the afternoon. The dew point have since recovered to -9 C. Relative humidity have been falling today and remained low to a low of 4% this afternoon, though it was not at the minimum for too long and have since risen to 15%.

The wind have been very gusty and increased in the morning and continued in the afternoon. Maximum gust of 54 kph and maximum sustained winds of 27 kph. Winds have eased sligthly but been getting gusts of 30 to 40 kph in the last hour. SW to NW in the morning and W to WSW since late morning. Just horrible dry gusty winds that doesn't help anyone and we lose any moisture we did have.

Yep the pressure gradient squeeze between the high and the low is causing the winds (which have been temporarily restrengthened today by the increased pressure gradient).

The surface winds spiral out of highs and spiral into lows rather than flow in a straight path from highs to lows because of the Coriolis effect caused by the earth’s rotation.

Notes of yesterday weather - 9/9/19: Fine and sunny. A cool day. The dew point was very low early rising during the early hours to -1 C in the early morning before falling. The dew point became extremely low from later in the morning falling to a low of -20 C in the afternoon. From the mid afternoon the dew point rose before stabilising in the evening and remaining low. Relative humidity was very low with a maximum of 35 % in the morning falling to a low of 4% in the afternoon. Light NW to WSW winds early before increasing light to moderate during th morning. Later in the morning winds became gusty WNW to WSW, started to ease later in the morning and light W to WSW in the evening.

Today: Visibility reduced by smoke. Winds have eased to quite light SSW to WNW and calm at times. This is the first time since Friday morning of a period of calm winds. Dew point is still low and have been slowly rising. Relative humidity peaked at a high of 36% this morning and since started to fall as the temperature rises.

Very smokey here today. At least the wind was under control. We had a low around freezing this morning. Earlier in the morning, exposed areas around Warwick were bitter cold with the wind. Might be our last strong front of the season. Many many hot and dry days ahead for us for the rest of the year unfortunately. Thanks for the pics and charts guys, very informative.

Low relative humidity from early in the day falling to a minimum of 19% in the afternoon and mostly recovering to near average during the evening. Light W to SW winds early, WNW to SW (some S to SW winds) in the morning, becoming variable from late morning, ESE to ENE in mid afternoon, S to ESE later in the afternoon and light S to SW winds at times in the evening.

RWM stats' today had a temp anomaly of neg 3.4 yesterday.I thought it was cold last night. Coolongatta was about 15.5 deg c last night at 8pm. But l think kt was the feels like temp' of 11.6 that made me feel cold.

People wearing long sleeves and trousers this morning . At 9am was 17.3 bit felt like was only 13.5 in Coolongatta .
